Nastars was formed in the year 1976, when the Non-aligned Movement summit was hosted by Sri Lanka at the B.M.I.C.H in Colombo where over 100 World Leaders from all parts of the World attended this conference. Nastars was formed by Mr. Asenkudhoos Abdul Rasid , renound businessman who had vast experience of over 5 decades in Trading and Distribution of Consumer products, Transport business, Estate Management, who acquired a shop premises at one of the premium spot at the Model market at Colombo 3. Mr. Rasid along with his Sons registered this Firm initially on a partnership basis in 1976 and later on in 1984 was incorporated into a Limited Liability Company with Mr. Rasid as the Chairman and his six sons as Company Directors of the Firm. At the initial stage, Nastars was popular for all types of Textiles, tourist gifts and other products relating to local and foreign customers who patronized the shop
